This event brings together AARP Maine volunteers for a day of advocacy, civic engagement, and storytelling. On September 11, 2026, volunteers will gather at the Cohen Center in Hallowell, Maine, to write letters to candidates seeking election to the Maine State House, encouraging them to prioritize issues that matter most to older adults and family caregivers. Throughout the day, we will create social media content highlighting the importance of caregiving, voting, and protecting Social Security. These volunteer-generated videos will help amplify AARP Maine's voice and engage communities across the state in conversations about the issues that impact aging Mainers. In addition, attendees will receive updates on AARP Maine's voter engagement efforts and discuss opportunities to support ongoing outreach and education activities leading up to Election Day. Lunch will be provided, offering time for volunteers to connect, share experiences, and strengthen their commitment to advocacy and civic participation. Join us for an impactful day of action as we work together to empower voters, support family caregivers, and ensure the voices of older Mainers are heard.
