Join AARP MT for historic walking tour provided by the Foundation for Montana History. Step back into Helena’s raucous early years, when a lucky gold strike transformed this remote spot into one of the wealthiest boomtowns in the West. Wander through historic downtown and imagine a place where the beer flowed freely, red-light districts thrived, and fortunes were made in more ways than one. Along the way, meet the prospecting miners, entrepreneurial business owners, and savvy madams who built this town.

The tour will begin at Reeder’s Alley and will last approximately 90 minutes, covering 1.5 miles with some moderate inclines.
