Fill the Bins with Paper and Food!

Join AARP Virginia for a special event which will strengthen community resources and reduce the risk of fraud. We invite you to participate in Fill the Bins on Saturday, October 3rd - this intergenerational event is open to the public. Advanced registration is requested for the free document shredding. This event has two parts: 1. Fill the Bins - Document Shredding and Food Collection (9am-noon): Guests will register via CVENT to be assured access to the shred truck. Participants may bring up to (2) file boxes of paperwork and can watch it be shredded on site. AARP Virgina will be collecting food donations at the shred truck to support Hunger Action Month. These activities will be in the parking lot of the Cherrystone South Education & Recreation Center. 2. Resource Fair (10am - 2pm): Attendees are invited to walk through the Cherrystone South Education & Recreation Center visiting with local nonprofit organizations offering free educational resources pertaining to citizens of all ages and their families. This inside event will include social service providers, community civic groups, law enforcement and public safety providers. Our goal is to help improve the aging process through information and technology while avoiding scams. Participants are welcome to take part in one or both components of this event!
