Recognizing AI-Generated Content

Disinformation is false information designed to mislead people, and AI has made it easier than ever to create and spread. In this lecture, you'll learn how AI-generated deepfakes, cloned voices, and other synthetic media can make fake content appear real. We'll examine how these technologies are used, why they can be convincing, and the challenges they pose for identifying trustworthy information. You'll also explore practical strategies for evaluating sources, spotting signs of manipulated content, and using available tools to help determine whether media has been created or altered with AI.
