10/13, 11/10 and 12/8 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Camelot Park Community Center, Multi-Purpose Room, 1005 E Suffield Dr, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
Life changes as we move into our 50s, 60s, and beyond. Our work dynamics shift. Our families evolve. Our identities morph. Finding spaces to talk about all this can be difficult if not impossible.
So, we created one.
Over the next three months, AARP IL and MenLiving are hosting a monthly local meetup in Arlington Heights for men over 50. Come expand your social circle, share a few stories, and connect with men living similar experiences.
What It’s All About:
• Casual & Low-Pressure: Come as you are. Listen in, share a story, or just enjoy being part of the room.
• Relevant Topics: We touch on everything from navigating life transitions, hobbies, and health to work, fatherhood, aging, and finding meaningful focus in life's second half.
• Local Community: A simple way to build a trustworthy network of peers right here in our neighborhood.
11/16 at 6:30 pm at AMC DINE-IN Rosemont 12, 9701 W Bryn Mawr Ave, Rosemont, IL 60018.
Join us on November 16 for a screening of The Old Man Walking Club, a moving and funny documentary that takes a genuine look at modern male loneliness, friendship, and the healing power of simple, shared routines.
Through the relatable stories of six lifelong friends who find their way back to one another on a weekly walk, the film explores universal experiences like navigating retirement, evolving health, major life transitions, and the necessity of maintaining deep community ties as we age. Grounded by expert insights from author Daniel Pink and Dr. Robert Waldinger, director of the famous Harvard Study of Adult Development, this screening offers both an entertaining film and a profound reminder that authentic connection is one of the most powerful predictors of lifelong happiness.
