Did you know that in 2024, Rhode Island consumers reported more than 11,776 cases of fraud, resulting in an alarming $20.7 million in losses according to the Federal Trade Commission? Protecting your personal information is more important than ever—and AARP Rhode Island is here to help.

 One of the simplest ways to safeguard yourself and your family is by properly disposing of documents that contain sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers or financial records. That’s why we’re excited to once again bring you Fraud Fighting Fridays, a series of nine FREE community shredding events beginning in April 2026!

 We are pleased that you are registering for the July 31st, Lincoln Fraud Fighting Friday shred event. You are taking a powerful step toward protecting your identity.

What to Expect

At each drive‑through event, you'll remain in your vehicle while our amazing AARP Rhode Island volunteers safely remove your documents and place them directly into the shredding truck—quick, secure, and convenient.

 Event Details

• Free document shredding
• Limit of two boxes per person
• Paper documents only (no cardboard or business materials)
• On‑site shredding for added peace of mind
