AARP Kansas City is teaming up with Starlight Theatre for a FREE shred event designed to help you protect your personal information and reduce your risk of identity theft. Attendees can securely dispose of sensitive documents, including bank statements, tax forms, medical records, and other paperwork that could be misused if discarded improperly.
Since identity theft often starts with stolen or carelessly thrown‑away documents, this drive-through event offers a safe and secure way to shred materials containing personal information.
What to Know Before you Arrive:
- Participants will be limited to 2 banker-sized boxes per vehicle.
- The shred event will take place on the WEST side of Starlight Theatre in the Blue Lot (employee lot) starting at 9:00 AM and ending promptly at 11:00 AM or when the truck is full, whichever comes first.
- Volunteers will be on site to assist with unloading your items.
Arrival:
- Enter from Meyer Blvd, drive into Swope Park, and follow directions into the Blue Lot (employee lot). This is on the WEST side of Starlight Theatre.
- Look for volunteers and to signage to guide you to the shred unload site.
This event is free; registration is encouraged!
