Voters 50-plus are the largest and most reliable voters in the country, making up 55% of the electorate in the 2024 general election. That makes them a powerful voice.
Join AARP New Mexico for an evening of discussion, featuring special guests Dan Boyd, political reporter for the Albuquerque Journal, and political blogger Joe Monahan, of New Mexico Politics with Joe Monahan.
Voters 50-plus have historically played a decisive role in elections, including electing President Trump in 2016, former President Biden in 2020, President Trump, again in 2024, and congressional candidates who shaped majorities in both chambers.
And older voters will be even more important in midterm elections, who made up 61% of voters in battleground Congressional Districts in the 2022 elections.
As a result, candidates need to pay attention to the issues they care about, like protecting Social Security, now and in the future, more resources for family caregiving and having financial security.
Your voice matters now more than ever and we want to hear from you.
Join AARP New Mexico for a special town hall. We’ll discuss the important issues AARP is working on at both the state and local level but more importantly, we want to hear from you. What are the issues that are important to you and your family, and what do you want our elected officials to work on?
