Walk the same paths that once provided solace and inspiration to Frances Perkins, America's first woman Cabinet Secretary.
Join AARP Maine at the Frances Perkins Center for a guided introduction to forest bathing, a gentle mindfulness practice that invites participants to slow down, observe, and connect with the natural world. As we explore the grounds and learn about Perkins' extraordinary contributions, you'll experience how nature can provide space for reflection, renewal, and well-being.
Featuring wide, well-maintained trails with gradual slopes, this event offers a welcoming opportunity to immerse yourself in history, nature, and mindful connection.
Parking is available, though we encourage carpooling when possible. Please wear sturdy closed-toe footwear and high socks to help prevent tick exposure.
We will walk approximately one mile together and walk will include some elevation gain. We will provide hiking poles for participants to use.
Take a breath, slow your pace, and discover the restorative power of the forest.
