AARP Maryland is excited to invite you to the 2026 AARP Maryland Andrus Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 11 am to 3 pm at Kurtz's Beach.
Each year, AARP Maryland gathers to celebrate the extraordinary impact of volunteer service and to recognize an individual whose dedication to serving others has made a lasting difference in our communities.
Named in honor of AARP founder Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service is AARP's most prestigious state volunteer award. It recognizes an individual age 50 or older who shares their experience, talents, and passion to enrich the lives of others. The recipient may be an AARP volunteer or another outstanding community volunteer whose service inspires others and reflects the spirit of giving back.
While the Andrus Award recognizes one exceptional individual, this celebration is also an opportunity to recognize and thank all of our volunteers. Every day, you help strengthen communities, improve lives, and advance AARP's mission throughout Maryland. Your commitment and generosity make our work possible, and we are grateful for everything you do.
We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of celebration, inspiration, and appreciation as we honor this year's Andrus Award recipient and celebrate the incredible volunteer community that makes AARP Maryland so special.
