The death of someone changes our lives forever. In a heartbeat, we are brutally cast into the wilderness of grief without a map. How are we to survive the overwhelming pain and loneliness? We need to create a grief plan.
Grief is all those feelings and thoughts we experience on the inside. Friends and family will tell us to give it time, that “time heals all wounds.” FALSE! The truth is, it is action over time that heals our wounds. Although there is no timeline in grief, at some point in our grief journey, we decide to heal, and to heal, we must choose to actively and authentically mourn.
Active-authentic mourning is intentionally bringing all the thoughts and emotions we have about our loss from the inside to the outside. It is expressing those feelings through crying, journaling, telling their story, finding meaning in their lives, and recognizing how they made a difference.
Emotions need motion. Expressing your emotions will help you heal. Creating a grief plan gives you a tool to monitor the healing momentum you need, not only to survive but to heal and one day thrive again.
When you attend this webinar, you’ll learn:
- Why grief is NOT a passive experience
- Why expressing your thoughts and feelings is essential to healing
- How active-authentic mourning is the key to healing the pain of loss and remembering with love
- How the power of the Six Universal Needs of Mourning, while at times painful and difficult, over time, can help you transform pain into purpose.
Your awareness of these needs will help you take an action-oriented approach to heal your grief. Instead, thinking that grief is something you passively experience and are unable to integrate into your daily life. Don't be stuck in your grief and lose your divine spark. Join this webinar and learn how actively engaging with the Six Universal Needs of Mourning can help you eventually go on to live fully and love fully again.
This webinar is based on the book "Creating Your Grief Plan: The Power of Understanding and Befriending the Six Universal Needs of Mourning," by Alan Wolfelt, Ph.D. For more information on his work, visit here.
