The internet can be a powerful tool for staying connected, managing finances, and accessing health information—but it’s important to know how to use it safely. This friendly, two-part event is designed especially for older adults who want to feel more confident and secure when using technology.

Part One: Easy-to-Understand Online Safety Tips
We’ll start with a straightforward presentation that explains, in plain language, how to stay safe online. Topics include recognizing common scams (e.g., text, calls, emails), protecting personal information, strategies to avoid scams, what to do if you have been scammed. There’s no technical jargon, and no question is too small.

Part Two: Hands-On Help with Your Own Device
In the second half, participants will have the opportunity to receive personalized, hands-on assistance. Bring your phone, tablet, or laptop, and get help reviewing and adjusting important safety settings at your own pace. Support may include:

  • Privacy and security settings
  • Virtual personal networks
  • Virtual credit cards (for safer online purchases)
  • Creating strong passwords, password managing
  • Online safety tips when using services like online banking, etc.

This session is supportive, patient, and practical—focused on your real-life needs. Leave with greater confidence, useful skills, and peace of mind knowing you’re better protected while using today’s digital tools.

Light refreshments will be served. Advance registration is appreciated.
