AARP volunteers are invited to a lively, hands‑on afternoon at Aussakita Acres Farm, where you’ll have the chance to feed, pet, interact with, and learn about the many animals who call the farm home. Goats, alpacas, pigs, rabbits—each one has a personality, and you’ll get to meet them up close.
Lunch is included, and you can choose during registration whether you’d like to participate in the animal interaction experience (limited to 25 people) or simply join the group for lunch and relaxation.
A few important notes to keep the day smooth and safe:
- No open‑toed shoes allowed during animal interactions. The terrain is uneven, and depending on the weather, you may encounter mud.
- Restrooms are clean, “dry” porta potties—a real thing, and exactly what it sounds like.
- The farm’s main building has air conditioning and plenty of seating, making it a comfortable spot to unwind even if you skip the animal portion.
- All participants must sign a waiver, either ahead of time or upon arrival.
Join us for a chance to enjoy the outdoors, learn something new, and share a memorable experience with fellow volunteers.
