Drive-Through Shred Event
Every two seconds someone’s identity is stolen. Protect yourself from frauds and scams by making sure paper documents you no longer need are properly shredded and disposed of!

Join the AARP Fraud Watch Network for a FREE drive-through shred event as we work together to combat fraud and identity theft in our community.

All you must do is (1) register in advance and (2) on Thursday, June 25 arrive at SASF between 9:30-12:30 p.m. and (3) check in with one of our volunteers, pop open your trunk, and we will help you shred your paper documents on-site.

AARP volunteers will share information on how you can protect yourself and loved ones from frauds and scams.

DRY paper documents only (staples and paperclips are ok). No credit cards, plastic, wires, hardbound books, binding, binder clips, glass, metals, aluminum, rubber, wires, spiral notebooks, hanging file folders, or pre-shredded documents, etc. To help expedite the process, please do not have bags tied or boxes taped shut. Please also ensure papers are loose and not in individual bags inside boxes or in individual bags inside larger bags.

Any and all containers with any wet or moldy papers or with non-paper documents (i.e. credit cards, discs, plastic, binder clips, metal folder hangers, rubber, rubbish, food wrappers, etc.) will be refused.

Additional information:
· The on-site shred truck will stay on site for the time scheduled or until it reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
· This service is only for personal use and not intended for businesses.
· Long wait times may be expected for the first half of the event. Please plan accordingly.

Optional:
We will be collecting non-perishable (non-expired) food (pull tab canned food, cup of noodles, packaged breakfast or protein bars, packaged snacks, etc.) for the Volunteers of America Veterans Service Center and new undershirts (crew, v-neck, tank top), new towels (all sizes), new pillows, and/or new blankets for the Sacramento Stand Down. Please bring any items you would like to donate. Participation is optional and not required to have your paper documents shredded.

This event is free and AARP membership is not required.
