Life During the American Revolution

What did the American Revolution mean to people? This new presentation will draw from the museum's rich collection of artifacts and documents to tell the revolutionary story through the eyes of ordinary people. It explores how they experienced the traumatic circumstances of war while trying to meet the needs of everyday life. It will also address the ways that Connecticans have commemorated and remembered the war, from Lafayette's triumphal tour in 1824 through the Bicentennial in 1976.
